Our New Place

We have been working on our new home. We have alot tore out of it and still there is much work to be done. Its getting down to the point that I can't do anymore on it though. Bummer!! (Just Kidding) I can supervise but I don't know how to do other stuff. I have been involved with building a new home and now remodeling a home and let me tell you building a new one is much easier. Oh well when we get done it will be nice. I am still stuck on colors to do our bedroom, master bath and office. I have no ideas and usually thats not a problem for me. Oh well maybe it will come as time moves on.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Happy Thanksgiving to you all. We have alot planned for Thanksgiving day. We are heading over to my sisters house for our get together and then maybe over to my hubbys side later just for a visit. Alanna isn't feeling up to par for her first Thanksgiving. She was up all last night with a plugged up nose and she acted like she couldn't breath good. I took her to the Dr. today so that I wouldn't have a sick child for the whole weekend and they gave me some stuff to give to her so hopefully she will get better quickly. She still has her little smile on her runny nose face and that makes it a little better.
We are in for some snow this evening and into tomorrow and then windy conditions. I am sure glad my sister is local. We are in for a winter storm watch tonight. We have had snow all day today and its suppose to snow all night and into tomorrow. Oh well, I am home for a little while anyway and it can come I guess. Just as long as it is gone by work day next week. Have a happy and safe Holiday.

Patty Cake

Alanna learned how to patty cake. Its so cute she holds her one hand up by her chest and takes the other hand and hits it and when shes suppose to throw it in the pan she throws both her hands up to her cheeks. Its one of those things you need to see for yourself. But none the less VERY cute!!!

I have only one more work day this week and boy am I excited. We are heading to my sisters for Thanksgiving. I am in charge of the pumpkin pie and sweet potato casserole YUMMY!!!

Ready all but...

We are ready for church (Alanna and I are anyway) all but Daddy! He's the slow poke. Its amazing that I (Mommy can get everything ready to go : Baby bag packed, baby in the tub and my shower and my getting ready and Daddy is who we are still waiting on. I guess Mommys ARE really supernatural! Just kidding.
We are off to church anyways . We haven't got too much going on today. We have some dinner to go to tonight at a nice resturant and so Alanna is going to a sitter.

Another week gone

Another week has passed and we're getting closer to the holidays. I am so glad that next week I only have a 3 day work week. I need the time off- I am tired. I am ready for a break. We have had some cold weather here and with the job that I have I am ready to be in my house for awhile. We have no big plans for the holidays other than just getting together with my family this year. Alanna had her first tumble at Nannys today she is ok but has a little scratch on her forehead. My mom was worried I would be upset with her. Like shes not gonna have those, please!!

You know you're a mommy when.....

You know you are a Mommy when.....

• You get poo on your finger when your changing a diaper and it doesn't bother you (as much as when you didn't have the little one).
• You get projectile pucked at while your little one is playing and she smiles really big like she did something GREAT.
• You get woke up at any hour of the night to hearing your little one saying Momma while standing at her crib and smiling and you don't even think of the sleep your missing.

But best of all is when....

• Your little one gives you the open mouth kiss slobber and all. They are the best.

Isn't being a mother Great!! These are just some of the things that aren't the greatest but surely aren't the worst. Its worth every single minute and I wouldn't have it any other way! I wish I had only known about this feeling sooner.

Quiet Weekend

We have a quiet weekend planned. We are staying home and doing some things around the house and enjoying Alanna. She is getting around well enough that we have had to gate her in one room with all her toys. She likes that because she has the run of the room. She gets into everything she can. She got ahold of a plastic baggy(don't worry I was supervising) and she played for at least 45 minutes, amazing what keeps their attention. The child is not deprieved of toys by any means and she plays with a plastic bag. She is learning to drink out of a sippy cup. She did pretty good with it today for the first time. I look at her and am still amazed that she belongs to me.

The name MOM

I am home today and getting some much needed work done on our house. I also get to be with Alanna for the day and thats the best. I never thought much about the name or word mom until I became a mom. I love to hear it come from my little girls lips even if most of the time its in distress. Shes says it often and maybe some day I will get tired and weary of hearing it but right now I enjoy every time I hear it.

Feeling Blah

We are feeling just blah around here. Alanna has been a little cranky and had some bad diapers if you know what I mean. I am just ok. Not the best, not the worst. I am tired, achy, and a little sick to my stomach. We have been laying around for the most part of the day. We didn't even go to church. Alanna has been running a slight fever so we decided to stay home. Hope its just a 24 hour bug. Sometimes its nice to just do nothing and take it easy. Even though I have plenty to do around here. My house needs to be cleaned big time. But my hubby says forget it if I don't feel good. What a great hubby! So I'll get it another day.

Remodeling is a pain

We are in the process now of remodeling our "new" house. What a pain! We tore the carpet up in 2 of the rooms and all the trim. The doors have to be replaced too. The previous owners tore it up when they found out they were going to lose it. We have the rest of the house to get the carpet out and then patch up drywall before painting can be done. Yuck. When we get done with it though it will look totally different. Thats the fun part. We had some old dead trees that had to come out and that is also done. Its exciting to work on it and see it change daily. I am looking forward to getting in it.

We are off to pick up some outdoor toys we got for a good deal from a friend moving out of state. She ran a daycare and sold everything. We were able to get about 5 big items for Alanna for $80.00. Yippee! We priced one of the things at Toys R Us and it orginally cost 120.00, and its like brand new. I know Alanna can't use them now but she will soon and will love it. We got one of those Little Tyke playhouses that has never been outside. Its exciting. I am planning on playing with her inside the house. They ought to be a great kodak moment.

Flying By!

The weeks are flying by. Alanna is doing something new every single day. She is saying momma now lots, mostly when she wants something she thinks is urgent--like food. We went into the room her crib is in and there she stood just as big as could be and with the hugest grin on her little face. Shes pulling herself up to everything. She is sooo her daddy's girl. They had the battle of the wills the other night, she wanted our big doggie Callie and daddy sad no. She eventually gave in to her daddy but it was an effort to say the least.

I went to pick up Alanna at Nanny's house(that would be my mom) and this is how I found her. There are pictures coming from Halloween but they aren't on the puter yet! =)
